Circuit de randonnée : Nid au vautour
The site, one of the highest in the central Morvan, has revealed the remains of a Gallic or Gallo-Roman road, supporting the hypothesis of a very ancient occupation. A bell bearing the date 1115, removed from the church during the French Revolution, shows that the parish of Planchez was created very early on. In feudal times, it was merely a dependency of the seigneury of Château-Chinon. In 1624, Anne de Montafié, Countess of Vairière, of Château-Chinon, sold all her forests in Planchez and the inhabitants, in compensation for the right to graze, obtained the clearing of vast fields known as Les Ventes. However, the parish remained sparsely populated, with only 80 families in 1667.
