Circuit de randonnée : tour du bourg de Planchez
In the heart of the Morvan, between the Lac des Settons and the Pannecière dam, in a green valley, lies the Presle watermill, a small mill typical of the region.
A handsome, well-kept stone building at one end houses the mill mechanism: an exterior metal bucket wheel, rebuilt in 1982, fed by a pond on the Martelet.
A pair of millstones crush locally grown buckwheat. A large sifting machine and ancillary equipment, such as a sorter and bucket chain, complete the installation. The building has been raised to create a second floor, which is now the living quarters. In the past, the living area was located on the lower level, the rotunda.
It was thatched and has been perfectly preserved, with its fireplace and bread oven; it is still used for celebrations. The miller practised the trade in his youth. His daughter now runs the mill.
