Around the Morvan

The Morvan Summits

When the mountain comes to you ...

Undergrowth covered with blueberries, hints of heather, mushrooms and moss, forests of chestnut and beech, picturesque trails, panoramas, torrents and clearings, volcanic rocks ...

Summits, steep slopes and broad valleys rub shoulders and offer a landscape composed of forest and agricultural fields, for a mountain atmosphere with landscapes and grandiose panoramas. In the south-Morvan, you will discover the highest point of the Haut-Folin (901 m altitude), Mont-Beuvray and the tradition of the exploitation of chestnut.

If a refreshing break at the St Honoré les Bains thermal baths or the discovery of Bibracte tempts you, the Morvan of the summits is made to please you...

The Morvan of sites and valleys

Let yourself be enchanted ...

Hilly meadows and entanglements of streams, villages and steeples, groves, chapels, abbeys and castles, legends and mysteries, cross roads and peaceful rest stops ...

Terroir, history and traditions await you in the heart of these meadows punctuated with high places of architecture and spirituality: the eternal hill of Vézelay, its wines, fairs and markets, the hillock of Thil and the ruins of the collegiate, the castle of Bazoches, the ramparts of Avallon or the stones of legend such as that of the Abbey of Pierre-qui-Vire ...

Take your time and discover the salty and therapeutic waters of the Fountains-Salées, out of the beaten tracks and dare the alleys of traverse by following the bed of the Cure or the mills of the Cousin valley.
